History
The Military Cadets of Southern Maine was
first organized in 2006 as the Maine Cadet Corps headquartered in
Auburn, Maine. In 2007, the Maine Cadet Corps came under the supervision
and direction of Cadet Education Association, a non-profit Maine
corporation organized as a youth development agency providing youth with
training, education, and high adventure opportunities within a corps of
cadets structure. During 2007 the Maine Cadet Corps applied to become a
unit of the American Cadet Alliance, headquartered in Dayton,
Pennsylvania and operating Military Cadet Units in seventeen states
across the United States.
Recognized as the Military Cadets of Southern Maine, the cadet unit has
become the first American Cadet Alliance unit in the State of Maine. The
unit currently supports U.S Army Cadets and U.S. Marine Corps Cadets of
the Military Cadet Corps, American Cadet Alliance.
